Mini’s Dance Class

Ages 4 – 6

Denver Studio | Tuesday and Thursday | 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Northglenn Studio | Monday and Wednesday | 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Our Mini’s class is the perfect introduction to dance and movement, allowing your tiny dancer the opportunity to experience the joy that dance provides.  This class gives focus to the development of both social and motor skills, while introducing our dancers to the disciplines of both ballet and Latin dance.  Within this class we provide an emphasis on class etiquette and the ability to follow instruction while interacting with peers.  We introduce the foundations of musical rhythms, muscle development through stretch and strengthening, coordination development through the basic ballet positions, the beginning basics of Mexican folklórico footwork and skirt-work, and the introduction of following simple choreographies.

Level 1 Dance Class

Ages 7 – 9

Denver Studio | Tuesday and Thursday | 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Northglenn Studio | Monday and Wednesday | 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Our Level 1 class continues to build upon the foundation set within our Mini’s class.  In this class we provide a combined focus on the structure and discipline of ballet and Latin dance, placing more emphasis on muscle and coordination development through conditioning and establishing strength, balance, flexibility, poise, and technique paired with graceful movements.  Within this class, we begin to expand upon ballet positions and technique, teaching beginning barre techniques, beginning center work, and across the floor exercises.  Along with ballet, we begin to advance our dancers' fundamental knowledge of musical rhythms, basics in Mexican folklórico and Latin dance, while implementing more advanced choreographies and combinations of footwork and skirt-work.

Level 2 Dance Class

Ages 10 – 12

Denver Studio | Monday and Wednesday | 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Northglenn Studio | Monday and Wednesday | 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Our Level 2 class is the next step up for dancers with more experience and a strong desire to further advance their skills and abilities.  This class further emphasizes the importance of the conditioning and development of muscle strength, flexibility, balance, and poise – as we build upon our student’s ballet and Latin dance abilities within barre, center, and across the floor work; while also implementing more complicated combinations of movements, intricate footwork, skirt-work stylization, technique paired with graceful movements, and advanced choreographies. Within this class, we deepen our focus on the comprehensive education, structure, and discipline of ballet, Mexican folklórico, and Latin dance.

Pre-Professional

Ages 13 and above

Denver Studio | Monday | 8:00 – 10:00 p.m.

Our Pre-Professional class is intended for the more serious and dedicated dancer with the desire to enter the professional performing company of ArtistiCO.  The focus of this class is vested in the integration of classic and contemporary ballet techniques with Mexican folklórico, combining complex choreographies, intricate footwork with controlled and stylized torso with skirt-work.  Our folklórico technique, mainly Amalia Hernández (Ballet Folklórico de México) based.  We place a large emphasis on the importance of both mental and muscular development at this level and require that all dancers also take our Adult Contemporary Technique class.  We request each dancer’s commitment to training and attending classes each week (Adult Technique + Pre-Professional) and highly encourage each student to take one additional class (ballet, jazz, etc.) to further develop their skills and abilities.
