Eligibility & Application Details
The Colorado Folklore Dance Festival is an invitation to celebrate our traditions, strengthen our community, and create new opportunities together.
We hope you will join us in helping establish a festival that reflects the artistry, dedication, and cultural richness of Mexican folklórico while inspiring future generations of dancers and audiences.
We look forward to welcoming your organization to the inaugural Colorado Folklore Dance Festival.
Important Dates
Applications Open: July 2026
Application Deadline: August 13, 2026
Festival Dates: September 3–5, 2026
Participating organizations will receive additional production timelines and required submission deadlines after acceptance into the festival.
Technical Information
To ensure an efficient and enjoyable festival experience for all participating organizations:
· Maximum performance time is 10 minutes.
· Music must be submitted in advance in digital format (.MP3 or .WAV).
· Production requirements, props, and staging needs must be identified during the application process.
· Due to the collaborative nature of the festival, technical elements will be intentionally streamlined. Complex scenery, extensive lighting cues, or lengthy scene changes may not be accommodated.
· Additional production guidelines will be provided to participating organizations following confirmation.
Workshops & Educational Programming
Education is a central part of the festival experience.
Participating organizations will have access to:
· Masterclasses
· Dance workshops
· Leadership sessions for directors
· Professional development discussions
· Community networking opportunities
Group registration for participating companies will include access to these educational opportunities.
A limited number of workshop registrations may also be made available to individual dancers and community members. Additional details will be announced separately.
